Saving a Food Combo

A saved food combination keeps track of the combination of food selections along with their amounts and whether the amount is locked. When choosing to use the food combo later you’ll be able to choose how to apply that combination to a meal in order to get the best fit.

The app tells you what macros to hit meal by meal, and give you exact weights of every selected food you have to eat to meet those macros. If you want to maximize your chances of success, eat only the foods listed in the plan, or very similar whole foods. If you’re going to eat foods not listed, please count them to within 5g per macro. So if a your plan says to consume a meal of 20g of protein, 35g of carbs and 10g of fat, and you consume foods with a total of 17g protein, 37g carbs, and 11g fat, you’re in the clear!

Apply Saved Food Combo

When applying a saved food combo to a meal you may have a few different options. If Original can be used while meeting the target macros for the meal it will just be used without any additional prompting. Otherwise you’ll be given the following three options with a preview of the macros and food amounts for each.

 Description
OriginalAmounts are applied exactly as they were in the original.
ScaledNon-locked amounts are scaled up or down to fit the meal while keeping the same ratio to each other. For example if you save a combo which has 100g 90/10 Ground Beef, 150g Broccoli, and 240g Potatoes then apply it to a meal which has twice the target macros you’d get 200g 90/10 Ground Beef, 300g Broccoli, and 480g Potatoes.
AutoNon-locked amounts are automatically determined in order to fit the meal’s target macros. This will give the same result as if, during meal planning, you had first added the Step 1 foods, then Step 2, then Step 3.

Note: Before version 1.20 of the app, saved food combinations where always applied using the Auto option.
